Dear NLC family, Greetings and Shalom! We, as Christians, are called by God to assemble for corporate worship and mutual exhortation. Pre-COVID-19 Worship: Before the pandemic, we could come to church freely every Sunday for corporate worship. We were so joyful and excited, worshipping together with our fellow brothers and sisters. Sunday worship service has been vital for spiritual nourishment and strength renewal. After service, through small group interaction, lunch fellowship, and testimony sharing, we exhorted one another without time and space restrictions. Visitors or new friends could also experience the love,......

This Covid-19 pandemic is an important turning point in the history of the world. While the death toll is high, a higher toll is in the damage to confidence in the future of this world. In other words, the greatest injury the world is the loss of hope for a better life. Many countries and communities are coming out of this pandemic worse than before. The wealthiest of first world countries are the most hard hit. As disciples of Jesus, how has this pandemic affected us as a church community? · Have......

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…” (Philippians 3:13, ESV) Dear NLC family, Greetings and Shalom! Although Lunar New Year has passed quietly, I would like to wish you all a fresh start and a better year ahead. May the Lord bless us all to GROW as we know Him better. Dear NLC family, blessed new year! Happy NIU year! I am so grateful that God has kept all of us safe and blessed us during this year’s unusual Chinese New Year. Stay Safe There is an old Teochew saying: “Safety is a big profit”, which means staying safe every day is more precious than making lots of money. At the beginning of this year, I felt immensely touched by this old saying from my mother that has accompanied me for decades. Young people may not have such a strong connection. But our......

Just before the end of 2020, I was looking back and reflecting about our busy schedule of recording worship videos throughout the year, and we were busy until midnight every week. Why? I thought about my mission called by God: to pass on love – to preach the gospel of Christ, to spread the love of Christ! The most important mission of the church is to make disciples of all nations. The church must, all the more, awaken all believers, establish disciples, send disciples, and preach the gospel. The gospel shouldn’t just......

My dearest brothers and sisters, my family and I would like to wish all of you a PROSPEROUS BLESSED LUNAR NEW YEAR! May God bless all of you a wonderful and enjoyable reunion dinner tomorrow! This year’s CNY is certainly a different one for most of us. This is because safe management measures has been tightened. For instance, some of the measures include: 1. There will be a cap of 8 unique visitors per household per day. 2. When dining out, avoid raising voices at all times. Lohei should be done without......

The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22) When the Lunar New Year arrives, people will greet one another with New Year well-wishes. Before believing in the Lord, we would bless each other: “Gong Xi Fa Cai'(‘wish you get rich’)”. When we became Christians, such a blessing sound materialistic. But it is very natural to unbelievers, and they like it most. The word “福Fu” (Blessing) is a very rich word. Different people may have a different idea of what a blessing is. It can......

Pray Now … We will soon be celebrating the 1st anniversary of the Circuit-Breaker. During the whole of last year, while you were mostly at home, what do you look forward to each day? Many of us look forward to going back to work, to church. We want our lives to return back to normal. We are comfortable with our routine way of life before the Covid-19 pandemic. The world looks forward to a vaccine. It is the hope that the vaccine will help us return to our familiar world. But it......

Dear Family of NLC, As we start this year, have you wondered what is your most important priority? Well Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 reminds us of the “only one thing that is necessary.” The story of Mary and Martha is a familiar one and it begins with Jesus coming to their house. Martha being the responsible sister decided to do the serving but she became overwhelmed and started complaining to Jesus, asking Him to tell Mary to help out. Mary, on the other hand, was sitting at the feet of Jesus,......
