Resumption of Corporate Worship
Dear NLC family,
Greetings and Shalom! We, as Christians, are called by God to assemble for corporate worship and mutual exhortation.
Pre-COVID-19 Worship:
Before the pandemic, we could come to church freely every Sunday for corporate worship. We were so joyful and excited, worshipping together with our fellow brothers and sisters. Sunday worship service has been vital for spiritual nourishment and strength renewal. After service, through small group interaction, lunch fellowship, and testimony sharing, we exhorted one another without time and space restrictions. Visitors or new friends could also experience the love, peace, and joy among God’s people.
Online Worship at Home:
No one has ever thought that the COVID-19 pandemic would spread around the world, causing serious damage to human lives and the global economy. When the COVID-19 was at its worst, the government suspended all religious and large-scale activities as precaution measures. But we were still thankful! Even we could no longer meet in church, we have not stopped worshipping. We gathered ourselves and watched online Sunday Service at home. Worshipping at home has been very convenient, but it has also been perceived as too comfortable. Yet, God has given us another spiritual practice!
Resumption of Corporate Worship:
Thanks to God’s guidance, we have officially returned to NLC for physical worship on 21st March. While under the new normal there are some existing safety measures, we thank God for giving us new ways of worship, new spiritual practices, new challenges, and new learning. We shall ALWAYS trust, ALWAYS hope, and stay positive, for the Bible says: God works ALL THINGS together for the good of those who love Him. God’s grace is sufficient. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together. Instead, let us take every opportunity to experience God’s love and witness His glory as one Body of Christ. May we offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe.
Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)
